HONOR PROGRAM


Honor Band


Participants are selected by a taped audition made in late November/early December.

Honor Band is held during school time (usualy late january); therefore one must maintain DHS eligibility requirements and be a member of the band in order to participate.

All fees are paid by the DCSD... but must be reimbursed if the student is accepted but does not attend.

All-State Band


See Honor Band Requirements.

You must perform in Honor Band to be eligible to perform in the All-State Band, which is held during April.

The sights of the All-State Band rotate between Reno, Las Vegas, and Elko.

The DCSD provides money for the fees, transportation & lodging. No money will be provided for food as of 7/1/95.

Solo and Ensemble Festivals


The DCSD pays all fees, which must be reimbursed if the student does not participate.

The student(s) must recieve a "I" rating at the NZMEA Festival in order to be eligible to participate at the All-State Festival. (The Director will have the final authority in determining whether or not the student or group shall participate at the festival.)

The performer must provide their own accompanist.
