The Drum Major should be able to assist the Director on the field and street. Band members are to listen to the DM just as they would the Director.
If a Band member believes the DM is being ureasonable, vindictive, etc., they should immediately discuss this with the Band Director.
Drum Major Selection
The Drum Major must be an upper classman. (Junior or Senior).
A perspective DM must complete the DM Application (1st Round)
Depending on the App., the candidate may or may not be asked to try out. This will be determined by the Director.
Try our (2nd Round) candidates shall do all or part of the following:
Commands,
Routine / Directing parade band,
16 or 32 count salute
Successful 2nd Round candidates will be invited to participate in the 3rd and decisive round, which shall take place after school.
The 3rd Round shall include:
routine
interview in front of 2-3 professional judges.
The Band Director's decision shall be final!
The Drum Major should plan on attending Summer camp paid for by the Music Boosters.
